Nigel Murray Artist
Nigel Murray is a London based artist whose work is rooted in a deep love of drawing, especially from direct observation. This leads to a constant search for evocative shapes, patterns and colours that capture a sense of place or mood. Figurative, semi-abstract and abstract approaches are explored in response to the Cornish coast, The Cranborne Chase in Wiltshire and the wooded areas and pathways of South West London.
Trained at Harrow School of Art and with an Art History degree fom Camberwell, Nigel has worked as an illusrator, teacher and artist and is happy to discuss commissions and tutoring. He had work exhibited at The New English Art Club and The Pastel Society at The Mall Galleries in London, The Royal Academy Summer Exhibition and the Sydney Cooper Gallery in Canterbury. Regular visits to Cornwall and Wiltshire provide material for future work.
Nigel was one of the artists on Sky Landscape Artist of the Year 2023 from Blackpool Pleasure Beach, broadcast on Febuary 1st 2023. You can watch the episode by following this link:
