Welcome to the web-site of Nigel Murray, a London based artist whose work is rooted in a deep love of drawing, especially from direct observation. This has led to a constant search for evocative shapes, patterns and colours that capture a sense of place or a mood. Figurative, semi-abstract and abstract approaches are explored in response to the Cornish coast, the Wiltshire and Suffolk countryside and the wooded areas and pathways of south-west London. Trained at Harrow and Camberwell, Nigel has worked as an artist, illustrator and teacher and is happy to discuss commissions and one to one tutoring. Recently his painting "Loch Ewe" was exhibited at The Mall Galleries in The New English Art Club annual show.He has a painting on display as part of the ALTON POP-UP PANEL OF ART. https://wandsworthart.com/profiles/estate-art-roehampton and the Tom Zaw Gallery in Hoddesdon, Hertfordshire. Recent visits to Cornwall and Wiltshire have provided plenty of material for future work.
